I am proud to have completed a 6-week legal intern role at Powell Spencer & Partners Solicitors in London, United Kingdom. Reflecting on this experience, I had the privilege of being part of a highly respected law firm gaining insight into the legal sector first-hand.
I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work alongside barristers and other industry professionals contributing towards trial preparations for a range of criminal cases. I also thoroughly enjoyed attending court as part of the criminal defence team.
Thank you to the CIEE London and Powell Spencer and Partners for their guidance throughout. I am especially grateful to Greg Powell for his invaluable guidance and support throughout my internship.
I am now completing the final semester of my Bachelor of Criminal Justice and Criminology majoring in Psychology back in Melbourne.

From the very beginning of this journey, CIEE was super helpful in guiding me through the application, visa, and internship placement process. Once arriving at CIEE London, I was met with a very caring and wonderful staff. I was also very lucky enough to have been placed with a lovely company called Cravenhill Publishing. Now, coming from someone who has never spent so much time away from home, I was very nervous and anxious to travel thousands of miles away from my family for such a long time. However, the staff at CIEE and Cravenhill Publishing made it the summer of a lifetime and one that I’ll cherish forever.
The team at Cravenhill Publishing was very welcoming and made each day at the office something to look forward to. In fact, I keep in touch with most of them even now that I am back home in New York! It went so well that this past Fall, I was invited to help run the show operation for their annual Transform Awards, in Manhattan! It was a night to honor the best branding projects of all of North America and bring them together for an evening of celebration and recognition. I cannot thank the Cravenhill Publishing team for the opportunity they gave me and the lifetime worth of memories and friends they’ve given me.
Aside from my internship, I had the best time living in London and exploring it with one of my friends that I actually met when I arrived at CIEE. From afternoon tea to exploring the beautiful markets, it was all so surreal to experience. We also took advantage of our free weekends and traveled to places in Europe such as Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Monte Carlo, and Bologna, Italy.
It was a Summer I could have only ever dreamt of. For that, I thank CIEE, Cravenhill Publishing and London for this lifelong memory I have now gained. Cheers!
